Last Tuesday, our class had a excursion to The Rocks. It's my first excursion with my teacher and classmates. And also it was my first visit to The Rocks since I came to Australia two months ago.
Marion was so carefully that she printed the train time table for everyone to make sure all of us would not get lost.I met my classmates and teacher at Kogarah Station because I don't want to take the train for a long distance by myself.Another reason was I was afraid to lose my way for we had to change another train at Town Hall.
The Rocks is the site of the first colonial settlement in Australia. We started from the Writer's Walk which was from the Museum of Contempory Art to the Opera House,it was perfect for the literary buffs.Despite generations of change, traces of early convict settlements can still be found. The city’s oldest building, Cadman’s Cottage (circa1816), is also located here. Along with the Discovery Museum,we took a lot of pictures of the traces. The Argyle Cut and Susannah Place were visted after lunch, which excavated in middle 1800s.
We all had a wonderful time except one dispointed thing. It happened when we asked the 'Capiton Cook'whether we could take a picture with him,he pretended can't hear us,but just promote his sales. What a spoilsport!

I'm glad you enjoyed the day and I too, was disappointed with 'Captain Cook'! Not a good advertisement for friendly Sydney!
